More Heart Knitting Patterns For Valentine’s Day – Knitting

Somehow it looks like the last roundup of heart knitting patterns I did was back in 2014, and you can bet there are a few more fun hearts to knit out in the world since then. (I’m actually working on a pattern that I’ll share as soon as I work it out if I’m able to!)

If you’d like to knit a little heart for your Valentine, for your kiddo to tuck in their back to back or use as a zipper pull, or for teacher appreciation (I used to knit hearts for all my daughter’s teachers) then this list — and that old one! — is for you.

Amanda Berry’s hearts pattern is worked flat, though the two sides of the heart are worked in one piece, and seamed using DK weight yarn. It’s a free pattern available in English and Dutch on Ravelry.

Handy Little Me put out a knit heart pattern in 2020 as a symbol of hope and care for people with covid and their families. These are worked flat in two pieces using DK or lightweight yarn.

The pocket hearts from Frankie Brown are a cute way to give a little Valentine’s Day treat, or slip in a keepsake or a sweet note so the recipient can always keep it near. You can use DK or worsted weight yarn to get hearts of different sizes, and there are lots of fun embellishment options. Grab the pattern from Ravelry.

These knit hearts by Doreen Blask can be worked in any weight of yarn to make tiny hearts for zipper pulls or keychains, or larger hearts for decoration. They are worked in the round in one piece and use Kitchener stitch to close up the top. The pattern is free on Ravelry and available in English and German.

Flock and Fern has a flat-knit heart that includes a pattern and video instruction if you need help with the shaping and finishing. It uses Aran/worsted weight yarn. You can grab the download from Etsy.

The Red Heart from Cristina Tonarelli on Ravelry is  knit flat in one piece using DK weight yarn. It includes a sweet little ribbon but that’s totally optional.

Debbie Willetts makes a multitude of red hearts (though they could be any color you like) to make her Love Heart Valentine Wreath. There are small and large hearts you can combine on the wreath or use alone as a gift or for different decor. You can get this pattern from Ravelry.
