It is the end of December and in a few days, we will take away christmas decorations. What would you think of a cable binder for christmas lights with cutwork accessory? Another stylish ‘time to shine’ project!
Supplies for the cable binder with cutwork accessory:
Start to embroider a cablebinder for christmas lights
Hoop 2 sheets of the newspaper in the Mega Hoop.
Embroider the first object. It shows you where to place the patches of skai. The outline is slightly bigger than the finished christmas tree. The colour of your upper or spool thread doesn’t matter, it will be cut away afterwards.
Spray olne patch of skai (on the back) with temporary adhesive spray and place it over the outline on the upper side of the hoop.
Embroider the red balls (take any colour of bobbinthread).
Embroider the green garlands in a contrasting green thread (bobbinthread in any colour).
Spray the other patch of skai with Mettler Web Bond temporary adhesive spray and put it on the back of the project, over the outline of the christmas tree.
Embroider the christmas tree in the same colour as the garlands and take the same bobbin thread. Continue embroidering the rectangles in dark green. They help you to find the place to position the velcro.
Fix the double sided adhesive hobbytape in the rectangles for the velcro. For the trunk, you’ll place it on the front, for the upper part, place it on the back of the tree.
Fix the velcro in the rectangles:
Here comes the last embroidery object for the cable binder, take dark green for the upper rectangle and brown in the trunk, to sew the velcro to the cable binder.
Embroidery is finished now.

Finishing the cable binder for christmas lights with cutwork accessory
For the cutwork function, you need to use the Echo-quilting and CutWork foot # 44C
Put the cutwork accessory in the machine, it is a small knife, that you use instead of the needle. It cuts in different directions, you can turn the numbers to change the direction of the knife.
You get the information about the next direction on the screen of your embroidery machine.
When all settings are finished, your cable binder is cut out:
All you need to do is push it out, and eventually cut away small threadfluffs with scissors.
Put the trunk through the opening and you can organise your cable.
This is what the back looks like.
The cable binder for christmas lights with cutwork accessory is ready. I like it, just fun to have all your stuff collected in style. Isn’t it?
